Lyrics

WAITING TO DIE

Standing outside of myself I see what you've seen all along,
an edited version I've created to appear as though I belong.
But this is not the real me,
the real me's scared and all alone.
In all the emptiness within,
where's the me I used to know?

No matter what I do,
no matter how hard i try,
I'll never drown in the tears I've cried.
So I guess I must move on,
I'm not ready to say goodbye,
I won't waste my time waiting to die.

In fear I'd be misunderstood I seldom stepped out of my lie,
I became what all expected a bird without the urge to fly.
And even though I tried to fight it,
the urge to fit was way too strong.
I became someone that I hated,
I was the one who just went along.

No matter what I do,
no matter how hard i try,
I'll never drown in the tears I've cried.
So I guess I must move on,
I'm not ready to say goodbye,
I won't waste my time waiting to die.

I need to find myself again be the guy I used to know,
the one i once respected one that could let his worries go.

But this is not the real me,
the real me's scared and all alone.
In all the emptiness within,
where's the me I used to know?

No matter what I do,
no matter how hard i try,
I'll never drown in the tears I've cried.
So I guess I must move on,
I'm not ready to say goodbye,
I won't waste my time waiting to die.
